Converged Security Solutions Presents at KNOW 2019

February 18, 2019

Identity is at the core of converged security.

Identity plays a critical role in entering a building, signing into a computer, monitoring medical devices, and countless other aspects. Without identity, there would be no security. Identities everywhere are constantly affected and put at risk by security incidents such as data breaches and device hacks. Recently, they have been seen in a number of different industries with examples such as Airbus, Marriott, and Tribune Media. Attackers seek out key pieces of personal information to assist in faking identities for their own personal gain, putting nearly everyone in any sector at risk.

“The identity risk in healthcare has extended far beyond health records, we are now dealing with identity in medical devices, physical entry logs, and a myriad of other items that put patients’ privacy and safety at risk.” – Chip Block, Vice President, Converged Security Solutions

KNOW 2019 is the leading conference centered on identity and security. This year’s new tracks—trust and safety, fintech and payments, digital identity, innovation and tech, regtech, and security all cover important aspects of identity that come with a variety of major risks. KNOW brings together an innovative group of experts from industries of all kinds and numerous countries around the world whose combined capabilities and knowledge can solve the growing problems that arise in these sectors. The conference provides an abundance of networking, learning, and discussion opportunities that can help participants better protect the data of their businesses, employees, and customers while preventing damaging security incidents.

Converged Security Solutions Vice President, Chip Block, will be sharing his security expertise at KNOW 2019 during the “Better Identity in Healthcare” panel on Tuesday, March 26th from 2:30-3:15pm. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Tom Sullivan (Dr. First.com), with fellow speakers including Jim Kaskade (Janrain), Catherine Schulten (AllClear ID), and Blake Hall (ID.me). As the use of healthcare technology such as electronic health records (EHR) continues to grow, protecting the identity of patients is becoming even more crucial than before.

KNOW 2019, a four-day conference focused on identity and security presented by One World Identity, will be held at the Aria in Las Vegas, Nevada from March 24th-27th. The conference includes over 2000 attendees and representation of more than 750 companies, 150 startups, and 30 countries.

Chip Block, VP at CSS and speaker at KNOW said, “The identity risk in healthcare has extended far beyond health records, we are now dealing with identity in medical devices, physical entry logs, and a myriad of other items that put patients’ privacy and safety at risk.”

“Better Identity in Healthcare” – Tuesday, March 26th (2:30-3:15pm)

“Good” health data management is about more than simple compliance. This panel will discuss not just the fraud and care consequences of inadequate identity processes, but also the rich opportunities for better diagnostics, predictive care, and individualized patient experiences from KYP – “knowing your patient.”
